This will be the first of multiple workdays on this unique project. The crew will assist with converting a large box truck into a Mobile Shower Unit owned by Soul Food Cafe Mission intended to serve the homeless population in our area. Soul Food received a grant to purchase materials & equipment, but not enough for the labor. This is a great project for all you "jack of all trades" guys too!
The chores for this first workday include constructing a wood frame and plywood subfloor inside the box truck, then laying-out and cutting openings in walls and floors for exterior doors, plumbing fixtures, etc. Volunteers should bring carpentry tools for wood floor framing and metal cutting tools for thin metal work (if you have them). Work gloves are always recommended. A Soul Food volunteer has created the initial design/engineering for the project and will be involved with our crew.
